Chris Bull ran a series of courses in ICI in 1972(!) that helped people think about their life and how they would like it to be. The heart of the course was Core Process work.
He asked me to go on a course and then help him run some. At that time I was an internal consultant in ICI. I enjoyed both experiences enormously. It was great to help people discover their Core Processes and to realise how wonderful and interesting they all were. My Core Process turned out to be "creating awareness". This fitted nicely my passion for learning and understanding the world and for helping people think more broadly.
I can't remember how I discovered the spiritual significance of Core Process. I can remember offering Elizabeth, a training manager, the chance to learn what her "angelic name" was and being surprised how keen she was to do so. I like the idea that we are spirits with bodies, not bodies with spirits and that our Core Process is our true name!
I even use Core Process to meet peoples' needs like career counselling
and management development but not in a very systematic way.
It's just another useful tool in my toolkit.
Then a few months ago I went on a walk, met Tom Evans, later did his Core Process and he helped me see the power of this method. It is particularly relevant now as many people want to be their own businesses and for their businesses to express who they are.
We have now discovered new techniques for maximising team creativity and performance by increasing
the understanding of each other's Core Process. The adventure continues!
